A community farm shop that celebrates the best growers, farmers, makers, and artisans in our local area surrounds Durslade Farmhouse. Durslade Farm provides the inspiration for the shop, sharing all that is fresh and seasonal with you from meat, fruit, and vegetables to foraged finds.
If you are looking for fresh and locally sourced produce, then this is the perfect shop for you. Located on Durslade Farm on the edge of Bruton in Somerset, the shop offers a wide range of high-quality products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, baked goods, and more. The shop is passionate about providing customers with information about where their food comes from and how it is produced. This focus on transparency and education helps customers make informed decisions about the food they buy and the impact it has on the environment.
What sets Farm Shop apart is its commitment to sustainability and supporting local farmers and producers. The shop sources most of its products from the local area, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation, and supporting the local economy. The Farm Shop works to share local talent, supporting small projects and working with established ones to create special products that you can only find in the Farm Shop. This focus on local suppliers creates a unique experience with produce that you won’t find anywhere else.
The Farm Shop presents a range of seasonal bounty from the farm, utilising the expertise of the in-house forager, Kenny, who, through his chef background, can transform his finds into the most scrumptious pantry essentials for you to shop in-store and online. Kenny discovers and shares highlights from the land and hedgerows, ensuring the best use of wild produce. The lamb and beef come from Durslade farm and are expertly prepared by the shop’s head butcher, Giles. Choose from the range of meat in the butchery counter for a BBQ in the garden or for an incredible roast.
The Farm Shop draws on the expertise of partners like Feltham Dairy, Cult Vinegar, or Brickell’s ice-cream and shares the harvest from the farm with them. Working this way, they have created in-house specialties such as lemon verbena ice-cream, Queso Cremoso with honey from the farm, and Kombucha made by an innovative start-up company with produce from the walled garden. The Durslade Farm Shop Negroni, gin, and espresso martini are all great drinks to stock up the bar with and to enjoy a great holiday in the Farmhouse.
